Sharks: Predators of the Aquatic Biome

The 5th grade, Gifted Education students are embarking on a journey to study the little understood world of sharks.  We are moving offshore from our rivers and lakes, which we explored last year, to the larger ocean habitat of the shark.  They will be studying the shark's role in the aquatic biome and how they contribute to the symbiotic relationships in the aquatic biome. Students are required to pass, with 100% accuracy, three assessments in order to participate in the dissection portion of this unit.  The first one is the Shark Scavenger Hunt.  This is completed both at school and at home with the document being saved on their personal thumb drive.
